Mercer County Public Water Supply District Number 1 has issued a boil advisory for some customers. The area affected encompasses Route E to the Grundy County line and from U. S. Highway 65 to Route Y. Mercer County customers within those boundaries should boil their water until further notice.

Motorcyclist killed after striking deer in roadway
Sunday morning, about 10 o’clock, the operator of a motorcycle died when a deer was struck on Knox County Route A, two miles northwest of Novelty. The accident claimed the life of 45-year-old Aaron Vansickle of Hurdland. Vansickle was using safety equipment and the patrol report indicated the motorcycle was demolished.
