Firefighters respond to grass fire on Highway 146
A grass fire Saturday burned about 15 acres on Highway 146 near Crowder State Park. Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District firefighters were on the scene about 40 minutes. The fire was described as a controlled burn that got out of control.
Chillicothe Police Department to participate in “Click It or Ticket” enforcement
The Chillicothe Police Department plans to participate in a statewide law enforcement effort Thursday, April 12 to encourage seat belt usage. Chillicothe police Sergeant Jeremy Stephens said motorists should be prepared for increased “Click It or Ticket” enforcement. Sergeant Stephens said the department is reminding the public that seatbelts can, and do, save lives.
