A Kirksville man was hurt when the sports utility vehicle he was driving went off a road hitting a sign and a tree Southwest of Kirksville.
Fifty-five-year-old Thomas Ireland was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The accident happened Friday afternoon nearly five miles southwest of Kirksville on Route N. The patrol reports the southbound SUV received extensive damage when it went off the left side of the road and struck the sign and tree.
Ireland was wearing a seatbelt.
