The North Central Missouri College Foundation is honored to announce the naming of a new endowed scholarship.

The Mundell Memorial Thank a Farmer Agricultural Scholarship has been established by Brenda (Mundell) Harmon in memory of her late parents, Junius and Lou Mundell, lifelong residents and farmers in Linn County, Missouri.  This scholarship will be awarded during a freshman’s fall semester and then renewable during their sophomore year.  Primary preference is given to a graduate of Meadville R-IV or Linn County R-I high school.

“Growing up in a farming community was a wonderful experience.  During my career in education, I mainly worked with students at-risk of dropping out of school and other high-risk behaviors.  I was constantly reminded of the value of close-knit families and how important the community is in shaping young lives.  In most recent years, during times of various family members’ illness, I was once again reminded and humbled by the generosity and love from this community,” commented Mrs. Harmon when asked why creating an endowed fund with NCMC was so important to her.

Brenda went on to express, “Just thanks is too inadequate to express our appreciation.  Hopefully, this scholarship will aid and encourage bright young men and women to stay in the area and continue in this very important and necessary occupation.”

“Brenda had a clear picture of the student(s) she wanted to help in honor of her late mother and father,” commented NCMC Director of Development, Alicia Endicott.  “Her ties to Linn County have remained strong over the years, and the impact the farming community has had on her and her family is the driving force to assist graduates in the area continue their education at NCMC.”

Eligible applicants must fill out the 2018-2019 NCMC scholarship application, be enrolled as a full-time NCMC student, and be pursuing a degree related to the Agriculture and Natural Resources career pathway.  The NCMC Scholarship deadline for fall 2018 is April 15th, and the application is located on the college’s website; www.ncmissouri.edu.
