The Newtown-Harris R-3 Board of Education has accepted the retirement of Superintendent Doctor Kim Johnson. Johnson’s last day with the district will be June 30th. The highway patrol reports a Cowgill resident, 20-year old Scott Alexander, was arrested Saturday morning in Dekalb County. Alexander was accused of felony unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault, and misdemeanor careless and imprudent driving.
