The Missouri Department of Conservation announces to waterfowl hunters that it has closed portions of the Fountain Grove Conservation Area south of Meadville for the upcoming youth waterfowl hunting weekend Oct. 20 and 21 due to flooding on the area. According to MDC, some roads in the area are damaged and impassable due to floodwaters, and it is unclear when all roads will be open for vehicle traffic.

While the number of hunting spots on the area will be reduced due to flood damage, MDC staff will still conduct a daily drawing on both days of the youth weekend to allocate available hunting positions.
