Laredo Board of Education to pay for employee life and vision insurance

The Laredo R-7 Board of Education agreed to pay for life and vision insurance for district employees at its meeting Monday evening.  Administrator Misty Foster reports the board will pay for $15,000 worth of life insurance for each employee.

Contracts were offered to all non-certified staff and a freeze was put on bus salaries. The board accepted a bid from Campbell Construction to replace windows. Foster says the bid was for slightly less than $8,000. The board will run ads for milk, propane, and fuel bid requests.

Ten refurbished desktop computers will be purchased for $200 each with the computers to be paid for in part with funds from Coke Rewards from Coca-Cola.

The school lunch cost increased by 10 cents to $2.50 R-7 School District audit date is August 8th.

Summer Office Hours for the district will be Monday through Thursday. The board will meet two times next month: June 10th and 27th.

An executive session was held with no announcement made.
