An early morning accident on Highway 59, two miles north of Savannah, Missouri, resulted in a 21-year-old man from Lincoln, Nebraska, being hospitalized with moderate injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at 7:57 a.m. on February 26, 2024, when a 2000 Ford F150, driven southbound by Shamar R. Sanker, lost control.

According to the accident report, Sanker’s vehicle veered off the west side of Highway 59. In an attempt to regain control, he overcorrected, causing the Ford F150 to cross into the opposite lane and then off the east side of the roadway. Sanker overcorrected again, which led the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on its top in the northbound lane, facing west.

Sanker, who was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported by Andrew County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph for treatment of his injuries. The extensive damage to the vehicle warranted towing by Blue Knight Towing.
