The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two women on unrelated charges. Twenty-one year old Kyleigh Elaine Rothman of Spickard was charged on two felony counts of stealing related offense, third offense. Her bond is $15,000 cash or corporate surety. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Spickard man on the misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license, second offense. Fire Sunday burned approximately 30 acres of uncut grass in a hay field about two miles northwest of Spickard. Spickard City Council approves agreement

The Spickard City Council approved an agreement between the fire department and the city at its meeting Monday evening. Signatures were added from Mayor Jesse Richman and City Clerk Mary Exley. Names for the mowing and clean up project were presented to the council, and it approved sending out letters.

Trenton man thrown from motorcycle after striking deer

A Trenton man was injured last night when, according to the highway patrol, his motorcycle struck a deer two miles south of Spickard.
