Three candidates filed for the Spickard Board of Aldermen’s April 3rd election. Betty Lee, Maggie George, and Frank Felder filed for the two open positions by Tuesday’s deadline. Lee and Felder are incumbents. The terms of the positions last two years each.

A spokesman for the Spickard Fire Protection District reports a fire overnight burned about half an acre near a sawmill. Training Officer Jesse Richmond said seven personnel responded to the Enos Schwatzentruber property near Spickard about 1:30 this morning. Richmond noted Spickard was assisted by the Mercer County Fire Protection District.

The Spickard R-2 Board of Education selected criteria for the Superintendent evaluation at its meeting Monday evening. The evaluation for Superintendent Burnie Schneiderheinze will be completed later this year. Schneiderheinze was appointed as the English Language Learners Coordinator.
