Two men were seriously injured in an accident Wednesday afternoon in Grundy County, near Brimson. The crash occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Route CC, about two miles west of Brimson.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2013 Freightliner trash truck, driven by Preston C. Ramsey, 71, of Trenton, Missouri, was heading south on Route CC. The truck failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 146, crossed the highway, then veered off the south side of the road and overturned, ending up on its side facing east.

Both Ramsey and Caleb L. Hudson, 34, from Spickard, Missouri, an occupant of the truck, sustained serious injuries in the incident. Neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Hudson was airlifted to Saint Luke’s on the Plaza in Kansas City by MU Air Ambulance, while Ramsey was transported to Truman Medical Center by Life Flight Eagle.

Brotherton’s Wrecker Service towed away the heavily damaged truck.

The Trenton Fire Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
