Spickard Fire Protection District responded to a fire on Union Pacific railroad tracks early Sunday morning around 3:30 am.

Spickard Fire Training Officer Jesse Richmond reports grinding on the tracks caused some of the railroad ties to catch on fire.

He says the fire, between two intersections, looked good-sized, but it was running out of things to burn by the time crews arrived.

Richmond reports crews were at the scene about an hour, and no one was injured.
