Today’s report from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office includes the recent arrests of four persons in unrelated cases.
Additional charges have been filed against 32-year-old Cory Jack Burchett of rural Trenton stemming from September 19th incident. Burchett faces charges of escape or attempted escape from confinement. While being placed under arrest for a probation violation, Burchett allegedly got away from law officers for approximately 90 minutes. Bond is $20,000 on the felony charge.
Burchett also faces two misdemeanor counts with bond set at $5,000. He’s accused of possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. This was listed as a smoking pipe, grinders, and rolling papers with the alleged intent to use them to ingest a controlled substance into his body. He’s to appear in circuit court tomorrow.
56-year-old James Irving Lewellen of Trenton is to be in Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court Tuesday on a felony charge accusing him of methamphetamine possession November 7th of last year. Bond is $15,000.
Sheriff’s department officials have returned from a trip to Yakima, Washington to pick up 36-year-old Jennifer Webb of Spickard who’s wanted on a probation violation.
Bond is $25,000 pending an appearance October 12 in Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court. Probation has been suspended on an original charge of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution in April of 2016.
A resident of Liberty, 40-year-old Benjamin Milazzo, was arrested on a warrant accusing him of failure to appear in Grundy County Circuit Court. Bond is $10,000. His next appearance in Division One of circuit court is October 12th.
The original charge against Milazzo was non-support of three minor children.
