A Princeton man sustained serious injuries late Wednesday night in a single-vehicle accident on State Route M, four miles east of Denver, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 11:56 p.m., a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Matthew D. Marshall, 25, was traveling eastbound when it began to skid. The vehicle then traveled off the south side of the road, descending an embankment before striking multiple trees.

The Chevrolet came to a rest facing east off the road’s south side, on its wheels. Marshall, who was using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was transported by Mercy Air to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, for treatment of his injuries.

The vehicle suffered total damage and was towed from the scene by Schroff’s Towing.

The crash was assisted by personnel from the Worth County Sheriff’s Department, Worth County Fire Department, and Worth County Ambulance.
