Motorcycle crash in DeKalb County claims life of Clarksdale man

A motorcycle accident on Route P in Clarksdale, Missouri, resulted in the death of a man late Wednesday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Jonathan L. Bunse, 48, of Clarksdale, was operating a 2022 Honda CB1000 southbound when the incident occurred.

The accident took place around 10:30 p.m. Reports indicate that the motorcycle veered off the left side of the roadway, colliding with an embankment. The impact caused Bunse to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, Bunse was pronounced dead at the scene by the DeKalb County Coroner at 8:45 a.m. the following morning. The use of safety equipment by Bunse at the time of the accident remains unknown.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the crash site.

The motorcycle was reported as a total loss and was towed from the scene by Scotty’s Towing Service.
