Jason Lee Ward, 48, of Bethany, MO, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
He was born on February 8, 1976, at Mt. Ayr Hospital to Charles and Barbara (Kern) Ward.
Jason led a challenging life, grappling with personal demons for many years. Despite this, he had a positive side. Jason was immensely talented, with a passion for tattoos, drawing, and playing guitar. His troubled past brought considerable distress to his family, yet their love for him remained unwavering. He reciprocated this affection, particularly towards his nephew, Wayland. It is hoped that he has now found peace and liberation from his struggles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Jr.; his paternal and maternal grandparents; several aunts and uncles; his cousin, Clinton Kern; and his lifelong best friend and “brother,” Cory Butterfield.
Survivors include his son, Abel (Jesse) Pottorff; his mother; half-sister, Patricia O’Connel; sister, Misty (David) Carter; brother, Roger (Stephanie) Ward; aunts, Sherrie Kern and Shirley Ward; uncle, Terry (Julie) Ward; several cousins; his nephew, Wayland Carter; step-nephews, Chance and Carter; step-niece, Adylyn; and longtime friend and “brother,” Elisha Wilson.
Jason was cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
