A house in Grundy County is considered a total loss after a fire on Thursday night, April 4.

Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District Lieutenant Jeremy Summers reports that the structure at 313 Northwest Third Street was 75% involved in fire upon the fire department’s arrival. Fire crews used four pre-connected one and three-quarter-inch hose lines to attempt to cool down the structure and protect surrounding buildings and trees.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

The owner was identified as Janean Bankson. Summers notes that the Red Cross was contacted to assist the homeowner.
