The Grundy County Commission approved a bid for a truck for the Road and Bridge Department and signed the Model Floodplain Management Ordinance Friday morning.

The truck bid was from Admiral Truck Sales of Grain Valley for a 2011 Ford F-350, 4 by 4 utility truck for $18,500. It was the only bid received.

Grundy County Clerk Betty Spickard reports the floodplain ordinance will allow the county to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program and makes the county eligible for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Grundy County emergency management director will be the floodplain manager.

The county has borrowed a North Missouri Solid Waste recycling trailer while an axel for the county trailer awaits repair. The borrowed recycling trailer is now in Laredo. Spickard notes it could be three weeks before a new axel arrives for the county trailer.

The Grundy County Commission will appoint members for the Industrial Development Authority and meet with cybersecurity representatives at the courthouse in Trenton Tuesday. Ambulance Billing Director Beth Leeper will meet with commissioners at 8:30 that morning and the IDA board appointments at 9 o’clock. Presiding Commissioner Phillip Ray notes IDA is the bonding agent for the county for large projects.

The agenda also includes Ambulance Director Steve Tracy at 10 o’clock, John Dwiggins with the Howe Company at 11 o’clock for an update, and Konica Minolta at 1:30 regarding cybersecurity.
