Frances Edna Wilson, age 99, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Missouri.
Born March 22, 1925, in Spickard, Missouri, Frances was the daughter of James Luther and Edna Frances (Hurt) Wagner. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1943 and married Leo “Myrl” Wilson on April 12, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on February 27, 2003. Frances was employed as an abstractor at Kanan Abstract Co. for more than 25 years.
An active member of the Chillicothe United Methodist Church, Frances also contributed to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 25 and was involved with the Red Hatters, Culture Club, and Garden Club of Chillicothe. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, playing cards, and golfing and cherished the time spent with her grandson and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Richard Myrl Wilson, and daughter, Sally Jo Gilliam, both of Chillicothe; a grandchild, Reilly Gilliam and his wife, Rebeka, of Chillicothe; two great-grandchildren, Pepper Lynn and Corbin Reilly Gilliam; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Earnest, Harold, J.L., and James Wagner, and three sisters, Irene Nichols, Norma Wile, and Alma Lee Lisle.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe. Visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from noon until 5 p.m. Memorial contributions can be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children and/or the Backpack Buddies Program and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
