A presentation and bus tour will be given at Crowder State Park, located west of Trenton, as part of a “Seniors to Parks” event. The event will commence at the Camp Grand River Recreation Hall on May 4 at 10 a.m. and is expected to conclude at 2 p.m.

The presentation, titled “Native Ground: The First People of Missouri Before Statehood,” will be delivered by Dr. Brad Lookingbill, a distinguished history professor from Columbia College. He will provide insights into the tribal groups that inhabited Missouri before European settlement.

Following the presentation, participants will embark on a bus tour to the Thompson Cemetery and Thompson House. Representatives from the Friends of the Thompson House will discuss recent projects and enhancements to the site.

Lunch will be provided for those attending the event.

Due to limited space, the Seniors to Parks event on May 4 requires pre-registration. Interested participants MUST register by calling the Crowder State Park office at 660-359-6473 by May 2 at noon.
