There will be several events aimed at supporting veterans throughout November 2023 in Trenton. These events, organized to provide various forms of assistance to veterans, are scheduled on different dates, including services from Veterans Service Officers and opportunities for social interaction and support.

On Friday, November 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Trenton VFW Post 919 is hosting a Veterans Service Officer who will assist attendees with VA paperwork and address any queries they may have. Veterans planning to attend are requested to bring along a copy of their DD-214 and any other relevant VA paperwork.

On Monday, November 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the service will repeat at the same location, ensuring that those who missed the initial date can still receive assistance. Furthermore, a Vet Center Counselor will be available from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on this date to provide additional support services.

A gathering is set for November 11, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., where veterans are invited to enjoy a free breakfast at Trenton’s Hy-Vee. Here, a Veterans Service Officer will also be present to offer help with VA-related paperwork and general inquiries.

The organizers are actively offering continuous support for veterans, particularly those dealing with PTSD and readjustment issues. A dedicated counselor is available for discussions at 660-359-2078.

In a bid to bolster these community initiatives, there’s an ongoing call for volunteers to serve as VA Shuttle Drivers. Interested parties are encouraged to find out more about this opportunity by calling 660-359-2078.
