The city of Trenton is accepting bids for hazardous materials inspections, demolition of six structures, and cleanup at each location. Bids are due at Trenton City Hall by May 16 at 2 p.m. The city has announced that interested contractors are invited to City Hall at 9 a.m. on May 9 for a meeting and a tour of the properties designated for demolition.

The City Council has allocated $50,000 for demolition costs. There is also a cost-sharing program between the city and property owners to assist with the costs of hazardous materials removal and demolition. All asbestos must be removed before any structure can be demolished.

After bids have been reviewed, city officials will discuss the individual quotes with each property owner to determine their interest in the proceeding. Specifications and additional information can be obtained from Building Inspector Wes Barone at City Hall.

The city of Trenton reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities described as in the best interest of the city.
