At around 11:50 a.m. Thursday, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an ongoing burglary in Linn County, with the suspect vehicle crossing into Livingston County.

Deputies successfully intercepted the suspect vehicle on State Highway V near the Chillicothe City Limits. The Chillicothe Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol provided support, resulting in the apprehension of 3 females who were then transferred to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office to face burglary charges.

It was discovered during the investigation that the suspects had attempted to dispose of numerous stolen checks by discarding them out of the window of the suspect vehicle. The investigation is ongoing for additional charges.

“The collaborative effort of everyone involved, including the Chillicothe Police Department’s communication staff, officers, deputies, and troopers, is commendable,” said Sgt. Woelfle of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.

The names of those apprehended by authorities were not released pending the filing of formal charges.
