Scott Allen Somers obit photoAfter growing up on the East Coast, Scott Somers found the love of his life in the Midwest, so he packed his bags and moved to Milan, MO where he spent the remainder of his life. Scott Allen Somers was born on June 13, 1970 to Larry and Sandra (Lango) Somers in Waterbury, CT, and passed away in Milan, MO on April 5, 2024. On September 22, 2001, he was united in marriage to Stephanie Michael Somers of Milan, MO. She survives of the home.

Scott served his working life as an electrician. Most of these years were spent with Deem Electrical and Mechanical Corporation, where he traveled the state of Missouri working on various commercial projects. He was also known to take on jobs throughout the neighborhood if he could lend a helping hand.

Being East Coast born and raised, Scott had a passion for the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots. Scott enjoyed collecting Yankee memorabilia and proudly hung a Yankee stadium sign over his “man cave” in their home. He was also an avid fan of UConn Lady Husky basketball, spending several NCAA championship games in a house divided as Stephanie cheered on the Lady Vols of Tennessee.

In 2020 he found a love for Jeep off-road adventures while vacationing in Tennessee. Soon after he purchased a 2015 Jeep Wrangler which he spent countless hours getting ready for more off-road adventures. He fondly named her the Jungleer with an Army Infantry logo on the hood in honor of his grandfather. Some of his best days were spent on the dusty trails driving his jeep over the challenging terrains of the Ozarks. Scott also enjoyed all types of music, playing the guitar, and cooking, especially for his friends and family.

Scott is survived by his wife Stephanie, sister Tina (Stephen) Pelletier of Novinger, Missouri; father-in-law CJ Michael and sister-in-law Shelly Forster both of Milan. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Anthony, Jordan, Piper, Scottiana and Lorelai Pelletier of Novinger, Missouri; Drew (Ahlea) Forster and Alyssa (Cooper) Bankus of Granger, Iowa; also his great nieces Marley and Sophie Forster and great nephew Raylen Bankus.

Funeral services for Scott will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Bairdstown Cemetery, North of Milan. A visitation is scheduled for 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, at the funeral home.
