Michael Bart Mercer obit photoMichael Bart Mercer, 50, of King City, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 9, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Jerry Robert Mercer Sr. and Linda Darlene Kiolbassa.

On May 19, 2000, he married Becky Walters in Albany, MO.

He worked as a Paramedic for the Nodaway County Ambulance District, where he served as a mentor to EMTs and deeply cared for his patients. He was also a volunteer firefighter at the King City Fire Department and founded the Missouri Whitetail Deer Hunters Facebook Page.

Michael enjoyed fishing, and hunting, and deeply cherished his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Kathrine Taylor; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Michael is survived by his wife, Becky, of King City; children, Derek and Kari Taylor, Kaitlyn Mercer, Deven and Kyrstian Taylor, and Kobey and Jocelyn Taylor; brother, Jerry Robert Mercer Jr.; sister, Cynthia Dianne Ivy; stepfather, Bobby Kiolbassa; grandchildren, Solomon, Kane, Lexi, Tori, R.J., Addi, Weslynn, Kingslee, and Beckett; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at the First Christian Church in King City, MO. Burial will follow in Ford City Cemetery, Ford City, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Mike Mercer Memorial Fund to be designated later, in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, King City, MO 64463.
