Leola F. Davis, 87, a resident of Trenton, Missouri, died at 7:17 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton, Missouri. Family visitation will take place on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to Half Rock Cemetery may be left with the funeral home.
Ms. Davis was born on November 2, 1936, in Dunlap, Missouri, the daughter of Oren and Leona Edith Cunningham Burkeybile. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate from Trenton Junior College. Ms. Davis was employed by Plainview Nursing Home east of Trenton until its closure, after which the residents were relocated to Sunnyview Nursing Home where she continued her service until retiring in 2006.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rena Sterling and her husband Kenneth (Buck) of Fresno, California, and Charlean Johnson of St. Joseph, Missouri; three grandchildren, Matthew Johnson of St. Joseph, Missouri, Emily Sterling of Fresno, California, and Amy Moench and her husband Darren of Kingsburg, California; four great-grandchildren, Darren Moench and Hallie Moench, both of Kingsburg, California, Kaiden Baharloo and Kensley Sterling, both of Fresno, California; two brothers, Leroy Burkeybile and his wife Jessie of Trenton, Missouri, and Gary Burkeybile and his wife Mary of Mill Grove, Missouri; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Sarah Johnson; one sister, Pauline Snyder; and three brothers, Virgil Burkeybile, Raymond Burkeybile, and Robert Burkeybile.
