Lathrop resident injured in single-vehicle accident

In an accident occurring late Tuesday afternoon, a Lathrop, Missouri, man was injured when his vehicle collided with a tree. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 4:35 p.m. on March 19, 2024, Kam A. Montgomery, 44, was driving a 2008 Kia Sorento northbound on SE Cannon Ball Road, about four miles south of Lathrop, when he lost control due to excessive speed for the road conditions.

The SUV veered off the east side of the road and struck a tree, coming to rest on its wheels facing northeast. Montgomery, who was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, sustained serious injuries. He was transported by Holt Ambulance to Liberty Hospital for medical treatment.

The Kia Sorento suffered total damage and was towed from the scene by a friend of the family.
