The Grundy County R-5 Board of Education on December 13th approved admission to varsity athletic events. Admission will be $5 for adults and $4 for students.
The board approved the district audit.
Approval was also given to Japheth Busick as a volunteer varsity boys basketball coach.
A report was given on the construction of the breezeway on the north side of the gym. No action was taken.
The board also heard information on the Annual Performance Report from the district and the remaining Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief 3 funds. No action was taken on those matters, either.
There are two positions open on the board for the April election. The two incumbents, Mary Lentz and Kaleb Shiflett, have filed for the positions.
After the superintendent evaluation in the closed session, the board offered a one-year contract to Phil Fox for the 2024-2025 school year. The salary will be determined at a later date.
