The Chillicothe Police Department reported a variety of activities for Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, as they continued their commitment to serving the community.
In addition to these specific incidents, the Chillicothe Police Department officers conducted numerous traffic stops, performed business checks, and advanced various ongoing investigations. The department received 94 calls for service on March 5th, 2024
Early in the morning, at 7:13 AM, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Calhoun Street following a report of an open door. Upon arrival, officers, in collaboration with property owners, thoroughly inspected the residence. The investigation concluded with the determination that no crime had been committed.
Moving forward to 10:20 AM, a call regarding trespassing drew officers to the 1000 block of Elm Street. The responding officers encountered an individual linked to the complaint and subsequently issued a warning for trespassing, effectively mitigating the situation without further escalation.
During a routine patrol at 12:39 PM, officers noticed a disturbance involving two individuals in the 700 block of Elm Street. The officers quickly intervened, resolving the conflict between the parties involved. Their timely response ensured that the situation was de-escalated without any arrests.
Later in the afternoon, at 2:06 PM, a theft report from the 600 block of E Bus 36 Hwy prompted an immediate response from the department. Officers initiated an investigation, which remains active as they work diligently to resolve the case.
At 9:05 PM, officers were assigned to deliver court papers to a recipient in the 1500 block of Fair Street, a task they completed successfully as part of their wide-ranging duties.
The day’s activities continued into the night when, at 11:14 PM, officers were called to a business in the 200 block of Bus 36 Hwy. A subject was reportedly refusing to vacate the premises. Upon the officers’ arrival, the situation was quickly defused, with the individual agreeing to leave, thus avoiding further conflict.
