Steep embankment ATV crash injures man from Orrick

A 54-year-old man was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on Highway 10 in Ray County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jerry J. McNary of Orrick was driving a 2014 Polaris ATV northbound when the vehicle overturned while descending a steep embankment.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:43 p.m. The ATV came to rest on its top, resulting in moderate damage to the vehicle. McNary, who was not wearing any safety equipment, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that McNary’s vehicle was released to a friend following the incident.
