The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Clinton Jay Hardin of Pattonsburg for alleged statutory rape and child molestation.

An arrest warrant was issued on Saturday. Members of the Daviess and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Offices, the Highway Patrol, and the U.S. Marshal’s Service then attempted to locate Hardin to serve him the arrest warrant. The Sheriff’s Office reports that Hardin was arrested without incident near an Albany residence on Sunday.

Hardin is charged with two felonies in Daviess County: 1st-degree statutory rape and 3rd-degree child molestation, allegedly involving a child less than 14 years old. Associate Circuit Court Judge Daren Adkins has declined to set bond.

Due to what authorities called an ongoing investigation, no further details were released by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
