Motorcycle crash on Marion County road leaves rider injured

A motorcycle accident occurred on Marion County Road 402, three miles east of Palmyra, resulting in moderate injuries for a man on Sunday evening. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident took place at approximately 6:42 p.m. on April 7, 2024.

Trey M. Tonnies, 38, of Palmyra, was identified as the rider involved in the crash. Reports indicate that Tonnies lost control of his 2006 Triumph motorcycle while traveling westbound, leading to the vehicle running off the roadway. The motorcycle sustained extensive damage and was subsequently removed from the scene by a private party.

Tonnies, who was not utilizing any safety equipment at the time of the accident, suffered moderate injuries. He was transported by a private party to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by Trooper Geren, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and Marion County Ambulance, responded to the scene.
