In Monroe County, Missouri, a traffic incident on Highway A, approximately 3 miles north of Holliday, led to one person being transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital with moderate injuries. The accident occurred late Sunday evening, around 11:05 p.m., involving a 2010 Ford Expedition.

The driver, identified only as a 16-year-old female from Clarence, Missouri, was eastbound on Highway A when she stopped for a deer on the roadway. Attempting to avoid the animal, the driver backed the vehicle into a ditch. Despite the collision, the Ford Expedition sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. The driver was reported to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.

Dawn M. Rojas, a 47-year-old passenger from Shelbina, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt. Rojas was quickly attended to by emergency services and transported by the Monroe County Ambulance District to the hospital for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe County Fire Department, and Monroe County Ambulance all responded to the scene to assist.
