The Green Hills Women’s Shelter at Trenton has received a $5,000 donation for its building project, now under construction in the south part of Trenton.

The Black Silo Foundation presented the check this week to board members of the Green Hills Women’s Shelter. The funds were made possible due to the Mid America Music Festival at Trenton that featured 15 bands in late July concerts.

Jenn Hottes is the president of the Black Silo Foundation who’s quoted as planning to make a donation annually to a non-profit entity. The dates for next years’ Mid America Music Festival are July 26th to the 28th.

The mission of the Green Hills Women’s Shelter at Trenton is to provide safe shelter, crisis intervention, court-related advocacy, case management, counseling, and other services to victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the women’s shelter board were Rex Ross and Dave Bain.
