Charges have been formally filed in Grundy County against the two individuals arrested after a vehicle pursuit Wednesday in Mercer and Grundy counties.

Thirty-five-year-old Larry Edward Brown, Junior of Worthington, Minnesota has been charged in Grundy County with three felonies: first degree tampering with a motor vehicle, third-degree assault – special victim, and resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only.

Court information provided by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office accuses Brown of unlawfully operating a 1988 Ford L9000 grain truck owned by Janet Brewer without consent.

Brown is also accused of causing physical injury to Reserve Grundy County Deputy Greg Coon by striking him with a retractable tarp crank handle of the grain truck knocking Coon to the ground and into the side of his own vehicle and resisting arrest by fleeing in a motor vehicle when Coon and Grundy County Chief Deputy Seth Cox attempted to arrest Brown for tampering with a motor vehicle.

Grundy County Sheriff Rodney Herring identified Brown’s passenger as 31-year-old Nicole Danielle Weese of Mercer. She has been charged with misdemeanor second degree tampering with a motor vehicle. Her bond was set at $5,000 cash only.

Court information accuses Weese of unlawfully riding in the grain truck without the consent of the owner.

Brown and Weese are scheduled for the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court Tuesday, April 24. Mercer County Sheriff Steve Stockman reports charges are still pending in Mercer County.
