The Carroll County Memorial Hospital of Carrollton is celebrating National Volunteer Week which runs April 15 through 21st by holding a Spring-themed Volunteer Appreciation Tea for hospital Auxiliary members at the hospital Tuesday.

Two individuals received service pins during the event. Peggy Swearington received a service pin for her 18 years of service and Jim Paul was recognized for the most volunteer hours. He had served 384 hours in 2018 as of the event.

Hospital Chief Executive Officer Jeff Tindle and Community Outreach Coordinator Kate Lyons expressed their appreciation for the time, passion, and craftsmanship the Auxiliary members contributed this past year.

Tindle said the Carroll County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary contributed to at least 16 projects and events in the past year, including offering assistance in purchasing items for specific hospital departments, making activity bags for pediatric patients, sewing eye glass cases and blankets for patients, and assisting at blood drives.

Tindle said he is excited to see what is in store for the future of the organization.
