Floyd Somerville Obit photoFloyd H. Somerville, 87, a resident of Trenton, Missouri, died at 7:56 p.m. at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Edinburg Baptist Church west of Trenton, Missouri.

Memorials to either the Sunnyview Foundation or the Edinburg Baptist Children’s Church can be left with the Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton, Missouri.

Mr. Somerville was born on June 19, 1936, in Harris, Missouri, the son of Archie and Virginia Murphy Somerville. He was a retired employee of Modine Manufacturing in Trenton.

On December 25, 1954, he married Mary Ann Manuel. She preceded him in death on February 23, 1989. He was then married to Barbara Hamilton Wason on May 20, 1989. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2018.

His survivors include three daughters: Debra Winn and her husband, Bert, of Trenton, Missouri; Phyllis Gott and her husband, Chris, also of Trenton, Missouri; Rebecca Meek and her husband, Wayne, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Stacy Peterson and her husband, Josh, of Brookfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Jeanne Holloway of Wichita, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; three sisters, Irene Hobbs, Maxine Crandall, and Joann Cutshall; and one brother, Edwin (Bud) Somerville.
