An open house will be held at Emily’s Hope Chest of Marceline to allow individuals and agencies to understand the resources the organization provides. The event is scheduled for April 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. and April 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Community members will have the opportunity to view items the organization has acquired to distribute to the public. Additionally, they will learn about future acquisitions intended for public distribution.

According to Emily’s Hope Chest’s website, the organization’s mission is to provide hope to individuals in Linn, Sullivan, and Chariton counties during times of need. This is achieved by distributing essential items to enhance health, promote hygiene, and fulfill household needs.

The organization has compiled a list of items based on feedback from agencies that collaborate with families. The aim is to maintain a readily accessible supply of these items upon receiving a referral.

Emily’s Hope Chest also welcomes monetary donations. These funds are utilized to purchase gas cards to facilitate travel to appointments, provide beds for foster homes, and acquire other approved items as determined by the organization’s board.

Further information about the open house on April 26 and 27 can be found on the Emily’s Hope Chest Facebook page and website. Founder Shaunna Stallo can also be reached at 660-375-1347.
