A Chillicothe woman accused of shaking a three-month-old girl during a feeding session entered a plea of “not guilty” in Division One of Livingston County Circuit Court.

Beatrice Josephine Anderson waived formal arraignment, and the case was continued to March 3rd for a plea or trial setting. She was continued on bond which was previously set at $50,000 cash only with conditions including no unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 17 and Supervision Services.

Anderson has been charged with felony abuse or neglect of a child—serious emotional or physical injury—no sexual contact. Investigators were called after the infant was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City.

Doctors were quoted in the reports as saying injuries and bleeding sustained by the child were consistent with a baby who had been shaken or perhaps thrown or hit.
