The Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau Tourism Board and the Historic Preservation Commission have scheduled meetings for next week at the Chillicothe City Hall.

On April 25 at noon, the Tourism Board will review several key items, including the proposed 2024 budget. The agenda also encompasses the evaluation of tourism grant applications and subsequent award decisions, the recruitment process for a new staff member, and a grant proposal for the Missouri Department of Tourism. Additional discussions will cover agricultural shows, a community calendar, various website contract options, and directors’ reports.

Later that day, at 5:30 p.m., the Historic Preservation Commission will convene to discuss the identification and nomination procedures for future landmarks and historic districts. The Commission will also review recent updates on the Main Street Connections grant applications, dated March 20, and a State Historic Preservation Office grant aimed at surveying a potential future railroad/industrial historic district. Other agenda items include efforts by the First Christian Church to be included in the National Register of Historic Places and clarifications regarding certificates of review.
