The Chillicothe Police Department has released a comprehensive activity report from Friday, March 8th to Sunday, March 10th, 2024.
In addition to these incidents, officers conducted numerous traffic stops, and business checks, served papers, and followed up on various investigations. The Chillicothe Police Department fielded 86 calls for service on Friday, 57 on Saturday, and 45 on Sunday.
Friday, March 8th, 2024
- 01:55 AM: The Animal Control Officer (ACO) followed up on a prior animal investigation.
- 01:57 PM: ACO attempted to locate animals at large near Polk and Dickinson streets.
- 01:59 PM: Officers addressed a parking complaint in the 400 block of Locust Street. The vehicle was found to be legally parked.
- 02:04 PM: A disturbance in the McCormick and Harvester area led officers to take an individual into protective custody. A 96-hour warrant was obtained, and the individual was transported for a mental health evaluation.
- 02:46 PM: ACO assisted with care for multiple dogs after their owner was jailed.
- 02:49 PM: Officers facilitated communication between a school resource officer and a parent regarding a school incident.
- 03:09 PM: Officers advised juveniles on city ordinances related to recreational vehicle use in the Polk and Fair area.
- 03:13 PM: A two-vehicle crash without injuries was managed near HWY 65 and Apache.
- 03:34 PM: Officers discussed threat concerns with a citizen in the 300 block of Clay Street; no report was filed.
- 05:02 PM: A property dispute in the 400 block of Clay Street was deemed a civil matter.
- 07:41 PM: A report of theft involving fraudulent credit cards was taken in the 400 block of South Washington Street. A suspect has been identified.
- 08:55 PM: An investigation into theft from a tip jar in the 1000 block of Washington Street resulted in the arrest of two suspects.
- 09:36 PM: Officers checked on an individual sleeping in their car in the 2600 block of Washington Street, deemed acceptable by business managers.
Saturday, March 9th

- 09:49 AM: Trespassing issues in the 2600 block of Shawnee were resolved with the individual leaving upon request.
- 10:50 AM: A suspect with an active warrant was apprehended near 3rd and Locust streets.
- 11:35 AM: A stolen vehicle dolly was recovered in the 300 block of Brunswick Street, with charges pending in Caldwell County.
- 04:12 PM: Child abuse concerns in the 1400 block of Clay Street were investigated, finding the child unharmed.
- 04:41 PM: The well-being of juveniles in the 2600 block of Shawnee was verified.
- 07:03 PM: An attended brush pile fire in the 100 block of Webster was found to comply with city ordinances.
- 07:23 PM: Theft from a garage in the 1600 block of Calhoun is under investigation.
- 08:12 PM: An incident involving a firearm in the 1000 block of Graves is being investigated.
Sunday, March 10th
