The Chillicothe Police Department actively responded to a variety of calls this past weekend, ensuring public safety and law enforcement within the community. Officers and animal control were engaged in numerous activities ranging from parking complaints to drug seizures on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Officers responded to a combined 125 calls for service on Friday and Saturday.

Friday, March 29th, 2024 Activities:

  • 08:59 AM: A parking issue was quickly resolved on the 600 block of Jackson Street, where a truck and trailer blocked multiple spots.
  • 09:09 AM: The investigation into a reported case of animal abuse is currently ongoing.
  • 11:00 AM: A subject was arrested on a probation and parole warrant on the 400 block of Webster Street and transported to Caldwell County Detention Center.
  • 11:47 AM: A stolen tractor was recovered and returned to its owner.
  • 11:48 AM: A welfare check on a dog ended with no concerns found.
  • 12:48 PM: An open burning report on Jennifer Lane showed no violations.
  • 02:09 PM: Officers arranged for kittens under a residence on Missouri Avenue to be safely removed.
  • 04:13 PM: A well-being check on a male juvenile on Jennings Avenue confirmed his safety.
  • 04:43 PM: A verbal domestic dispute was de-escalated on Jackson Street.
  • 05:03 PM: An assault report on East Business 36 found both subjects had left the scene.
  • 09:25 PM: A female juvenile was found safe with family after a well-being check.
  • 10:35 PM: Following a theft on Graves Street, suspects were apprehended after a vehicle collision.

The Chillicothe Police Department handled 76 calls for service on Friday.

Saturday, March 30th, 2024 Highlights:

  • 07:30 AM: A female found passing out on Elm Street was arrested for drug possession after refusing medical care.
  • 03:04 PM: A mother was arrested for child abuse following a physical altercation with her son on Clay Street.
  • 07:48 PM: A report of a juvenile assault led to a resolved verbal altercation between parents.
  • 09:14 PM: Several drivers were warned against vehicle disturbances in Simpson Park and elsewhere.

The Chillicothe Police Department handled 49 calls for service on Saturday.
