A New Cambria man received serious injuries when the UTV he was operating collided with a small tractor on a country road northwest of New Cambria. The patrol reports vision was obstructed by a fire near the road.

Forty-seven-year-old Michael Duncan was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia. The operator of the tractor, 38-year old Nicholas Orescheln of Columbia, was not reported hurt.

The crash happened early Saturday afternoon four miles northwest of New Cambria on Crystal Road as the tractor was southbound and the UTV was traveling north when they collided head-on.

Damage was listed as moderate to the UTV and none to the tractor. The patrol reports neither driver was wearing safety equipment.
