Two in arrest report from Grundy County authorities

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two men on Thursday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Joshua Phillips of Excelsior Springs was arrested on failure to obey a judge’s order on a felony charge of non-support—total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under an order of support. His bond is $100,000 cash only.

Court documents accuse Phillips of failing to provide adequate support for his minor children for whom he was legally obligated to provide such support without good cause. A total arrearage as of February 28th, 2017 was $91,363.36.

Twenty-seven-year-old Steven Johnson (homeless) was arrested on a probation violation of residency and special conditions on an original charge of felony possession of a controlled substance. His bond is $15,000 cash or corporate surety.

Phillips and Johnson are both scheduled for division one of circuit court November 15th.
