Elderly driver airlifted to KC hospital after crashing on Highway 24 in Carroll County

An accident occurred on Highway 24 west of County Road 285 in Carroll County, Missouri, on the morning of April 23, 2024.

Gary L. Jacobs, 85, of Bosworth, Missouri, was seriously injured when his 2010 Buick Lucerne left the roadway, struck an embankment, became airborne, rotated, and ultimately rolled over.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the accident happened at around 9:14 a.m. Jacobs was transported by LifeFlight to Truman Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. According to the report, Jacobs was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The Buick Lucerne suffered total damage and was towed from the scene by L & L Towing.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Carroll County Fire and EMS, and the Carrollton Fire Department responded to the crash.
