The outdoor field show performances by high school bands at the Trenton Marching Band Festival as well as Field Show presentations were completed Saturday night before heavy rains hit.

That was accomplished by moving up the performance times and adjusting the award presentation schedules. Three bands dropped out of the competition because of weather concerns.

The Missouri Western State University band was scheduled to present an exhibition field show after the high school performances but did not. Missouri Western was told not to continue to Trenton after its buses were stopped by heavy rain at Stewartsville.

As it turned out, the outdoor performances and award presentations were completed less than thirty minutes before the rain arrived in Trenton. There still were some Indoor drumline presentations that continued after the outdoor activities were completed drumline awards were presented indoors.

Various honors presented during the day and overall top awards went to Oak Grove in the parade judging and Liberty North in the field show.

The field show recognition is named The Hannaford Sweepstakes Award and the parade honor is called the Festival Staff Sweepstakes Award.
