Trenton couple arrested for endangering child with poor living conditions

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of two residents from Trenton on April 17. Stephanie Jean Thompson, 53, and Terry Thompson, 63, have been charged with felony first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. This charge pertains to creating substantial risk in a first offense with no sexual conduct involved.

Each of the accused has had bond set at $15,000 cash only, along with a special condition prohibiting contact with the alleged victims. They are due to appear in the Associate Division of the Grundy County Circuit Court on April 23.

According to court documents, the Thompsons allegedly engaged in behavior that posed a significant risk to the life, body, and health of a child under 17 years old. This incident, said to have occurred in January, involved maintaining unsanitary living conditions.
