A woman from Polo was injured Thursday night when the sports utility vehicle she was a passenger in ran off Highway 116 in Caldwell County and overturned.

Thirty-two-year-old Cristal Flurrey of Polo was taken by EMS to Liberty Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver, 35-year-old Dustin Cope of Excelsior Springs, wasn’t hurt.

The SUV was westbound on Highway 116 when it attempted to turn south onto Boulder Road. A trooper reported the car was traveling too fast for conditions and went off the west side of the road where it rolled over and came to rest upright.

The vehicle was demolished in the accident three miles west of Polo and both occupants were using seat belts.
