The 24th Annual Missouri Day Marching Festival’s sweepstakes award has been presented to the Oak Grove Marching Band.
Marching Festival Committee Representative Steve Maxey presented the Buddy and Karla Hannaford Sweepstakes Award to Oak Grove Director Nathan Long and members of the Panther Pride band.
Oak Grove also received four Class Four awards: first in parade, first in indoor auxiliary, first in indoor percussion, and second in the field show.
Long says the Missouri Day Marching Festival is the highlight of the band’s marching season, and he looks forward to the event each October.
This year’s event was held virtually due to the pandemic. Marching Festival Committee members say they are working on the 2021 event, which is scheduled for October 16th.
