Crowder State Park reports it is not holding the Winter Hike Challenge originally scheduled from December 18th through 27th. The cancellation is due to COVID-19.
The staff of Crowder State Park and other Missouri State Parks also will not offer guided hikes on January 1st as usual. Instead, Missouri State Parks invites the public to celebrate the beginning of 2021 by participating in a virtual First Day Hikes Challenge at a state park or historic site from December 30th to January 3rd.
Photos and videos of hikes can be posted on social media using #MOFirstDayHikes. Participants can enter into a drawing for a $25 Missouri State Parks gift card after completing hikes at mostateparks.com/firstdayhikes.
